The 18-year-old was on trial at Elland Road earlier this season but was not offered a contract.
He also played for Bolton Wanderers against Sao Paulo on Sunday.
Sammi then had a successful trial at Old Trafford this week and, unlike Leeds and Bolton, they seem certain to take it further.
