Chairman Gerald Krasner has made it clear, in the wake of the £22m takeover of the club that the current wage bill, believed to be around £35m, is unsustainable and has to be slashed.
Johnson is one of the top earners at Leeds and he said: "If someone offers you a lot of money, you're not going to turn it down. Obviously, there are a lot of players on big wages at this club and if we go down then things are going to have to happen, but we're not looking at that.
"We realise we're playing for our futures, but that's always the case in football. It's a short career and if you're not doing the business then you are going to be on your bike. But I'm not thinking about the future and I don't think the other lads are. We're just thinking about this season and keeping Leeds in the Premier League.
"We've still a lot of games, so it's in our own hands. We win those games then we will stay in the Premier League and that will affect our position at the club. So we're just focusing on the football. We get enough stick from media and fans about how much money we earn, so we just get on with it."
