Johnson told the club's official website: "I just want to keep playing as well as I can and keep the pressure on the manager to keep me involved.
"It's going to be difficult with the strikers here at the moment, I am just really playing for myself and to progress at the club.
"People have mentioned going out on loan and I've done that a few times, but how beneficial it is I am not so sure.
"I think if you do go out on loan you have got no chance of playing here which is what I want to do. I want to be a Leeds player and play here and that's why I decided to stay and fight it out in the reserves."
Johnson scored for the reserves the other night and he has been loaned out to Blackpool and Hull City to gain first-team experience.
