The Scottish midfielder returned as a substitute against Doncaster Rovers on Friday night, his first appearance of the season after recovering from a knee problem.
"You do hope to start games but the lads have done well," he told LUTV.
"The team has done well in stages so for me to think I'm going to start, it isn't like that. I'm just going to keep working as hard as I can."
