The 18-year-old midfielder is still a major target for Newcastle but Kevin Blackwell is not interested in Viana.
He was more interested in Gary Speed, but he wants to stay on Tyneside and fight for his place next season in the Premiership.
Speed insists he will still be a first-team fixture at St James' Park next season and wants to play on at Newcastle beyond next summer, spoiling any plans Leeds or Fulham had in the midfielder.
"I haven't heard anything from either Leeds or Fulham, or anyone else for that matter, and neither have the club," said 34-year-old Speed. "But it wouldn't matter if I had. All I want to do is stay at Newcastle. Not only do I want to see out my contract next season but I would like to win another contract after that. But that depends on what I do in the coming season."
