Swansea City could still benefit from a promotion clause in the deal that took Joel Piroe to the Whites last summer.
Swansea would have received about £2m as part of the Piroe transfer had Leeds won Sunday’s Championship play-off final.
The Whites’ defeat at Wembley means there will be no additional payment for Piroe this summer.
However, the promotion clause runs for the duration of the four-year contract Piroe signed when he joined Leeds in a deal worth in excess of £10m.
The striker, 24, scored 14 goals in 49 appearances in his first season at Leeds.
