Healy was given a great ovation from the Leeds fans when being subbed with 15 minutes remaining at Elland Road yesterday.
The Elland Road finances rose by £500k on Saturday, as part of the deal which took Robbie Fowler over the Pennines, when he made a substitute appearance for Manchester City against Chelsea. "Discussions are continuing," was all chairman Gerald Krasner would say on the situation.
Assistant boss Sam Ellis added: "There is no doubt Healy is a good player. It was difficult for him today in the circumstances, but he is still a Preston player and it's really not for us to comment on. But there is another bid in, although it would not be right for us to make it public."
Preston manager Billy Davies praised the striker's efforts and said he remains hopeful of keeping him at Deepdale. "I think he worked his socks off," he said. "He did tire at the end, but it's been a difficult week with all the speculation going on around him.
"The offers so far from Leeds have not been anywhere near what we consider the player to be worth and he remains a Preston North End player as far as I am concerned. When I sit down on Sunday we will discuss the David Healy situation, if there is one to discuss."
