The Whites head north of the border today for a training camp and two games against Scottish opposition.
Striker Luciano Becchio and defender Ben Parker are both included after recovering from injury, along with Paddy Kisnorbo, who has signed a new two-year contract with the club.
The boss has named four youngsters in his 24-man squad with goalkeeper Alex Cairns, defender Zac Thompson, and Nathan and Lewis Turner all included.
Fellow Academy products Tom Lees and Aidy White are also in the squad.
"We're taking 24 with us, but it could well be that we add to that during the course of the week," said the boss.
"We're still looking at different options and we will see what happens, but we have two games up there so it may be that if someone comes in they will join up with us."
The first match of the summer is against Falkirk on Wednesday (7.45pm) followed by a trip to SPL outfit Motherwell on Saturday (3pm).
Both games will be screened live via LUTV Pay-Per-View.
