Venables to stay at Elland Road

Venables had hinted he might quit the club after claiming he was kept in the dark over the sale of defender Jonathan Woodgate to Newcastle last week.

"I called the players and backroom staff together and told them that I wanted to stay," Venables said on Sunday.

"We have an important FA Cup tie on Tuesday against Gillingham and it is vital that we prepare for the game and for the rest of the season."
