Viduka is one of a few - including former Leeds winger Harry Kewell - to have pulled out, leaving coach Frank Farina's plans in the air.
If the ASA decides to enforce its recently-declared zero tolerance policy for those who pull out of internationals without a valid excuse - and chief executive-elect John O'Neill has indicated his willingness to do so - Viduka could be forced to miss the game against Manchester United on Saturday.
The ASA could invoke FIFA statutes that would bar Viduka from playing for United for five days after his stint with the national team would have finished.
