However, 20-year-old Watt, who is on a season-long deal from Arsenal, believes Leeds can use the experience of their successful League One promotion campaign last season - where they experienced a dip in form before eventually securing second spot - to help them go on the winning run needed to secure the coveted runners-up place.
He told the club's official website: "The gaffer (Simon Grayson) doesn't want anything less than us pushing for second place. Last season we were focusing on winning every game and we're the same now. We'll be going for it. With the crowd behind us I'm sure we can do it.
"The league is so tight, a good run will put pressure on the other teams and we'll see what happens. As a young player it's good and I'm grateful I've got this opportunity."
