YEP Player Ratings

Last updated : 21 March 2016 By Phil Hay

Marco Silvestri: Credit to him for a penalty save which was quite superb but the other aspects of his game, especially his distribution, failed him. 5/10

Gaetano Berardi; Caught out when Huddersfield broke to score their third but really, he was as strong and committed as any other Leeds player. 6/10

Sol Bamba; The day started badly with the concession of a penalty and did not get much better. Like the team, his recent composure evaporated. 3/10

Giuseppe Bellusci; United’s defence lost its equilibrium in the second half and Huddersfield could have left Elland Road with more than four goals. 4/10

Charlie Taylor; Convincing in the first half but couldn’t get into the second and the disarray among Evans’ players got to him eventually. 5/10

Stuart Dallas; Slightly Byram-esque with his hanging, far-post header for the opener and did fine for the best part of an hour, before Leeds blew up. 6/10

Luke Murphy; A big decision by Evans to leave out Diagouraga and it didn’t pay off. Leeds were good in spells but allowed Town to get on top. 5/10

Liam Bridcutt; A very influential figure for as long as Leeds were in front but needed to stamp his authority on the game when United strayed into choppy waters. 5/10

Alex Mowatt; Once again, too far from the action and unable to make a serious impact. Town had more pace and direction going forward. 4/10

Souleymane Doukara; Hard to fault his effort but his attempts to forge something in and around Huddersfield’s box came to nothing too often. 5/10

Mirco Antenucci; Has made a habit of producing goals from very little recently but Leeds asked too much of him on a day when creativity was lacking. 5/10.

Substitutes: Lewis Cook (for Murphy, 65,) - Exactly the sort of situation where you want Cook to shine. Town scored three times within 12 minutes of him coming on. 4/10

Chris Wood (for Dallas, 74) - Evans must wish with hindsight that he had looked to his bench earlier. Wood was never going to turn the match around at 3-1 down. 5/10

Mustapha Carayol (for Doukara, 79) - Like Wood, the best Carayol could hope to do was to pinch a consolation goal. 5/10

Subs (not used): Bailey-Peacock-Farrell, Liam Cooper, Toumani Diagouraga, Lewie Coyle.

Referee: Graham Scott (Oxfordshire) - Very inconsistent in his management of the match, not least when it came to issuing bookings. 5/10

Attendance: 29,311

Huddersfield Town: Jed Steer – 7, Tommy Smith – 6, Mark Hudson – 8, Joel Lynch – 7, James Husband – 7, Dean Whitehead – 8, Philip Billing – 7, Joe Lolley – 7, Jamie Paterson – 6, Rajiv van La Parra – 5, Nahki Wells – 8

Substitutes: Harry Bunn (for van La Parra, 46) – 8, Karim Matmour (for Paterson, 63) – 7, Emyr Huws (for Billing, 67) - 6
